Under Contract - Land Update

Hey Mercy family,

We have some incredibly exciting news – we are officially under contract for the land! I’ll be releasing a detailed video tomorrow to walk you through everything, but I wanted to get this update to you now.

This week, we faced some unexpected changes – the sellers realized they made an error on their end and couldn’t sell us the conservation land as originally presented. After the contract was drawn and accepted, they realized the mistake. The good news is we’ve reconfigured the deal, and we now have 30 acres of the best, prime buildable land they can offer. We’ve traded some wooded acreage for 5 additional acres of beautiful field land, making this an even better deal for the church.

We’re under contract for those 30 acres at $1.5 million. This is a blessing and puts us in a great financial situation. We met with lenders, and after this morning’s meeting, we believe Fidelity will be our financial partner. We’ll put $500k down, finance $1 million, and move forward from there.

We have a 90-day due diligence period (with a 10-day closing after that). We can walk away from this deal totally risk free anytime for any reason. In this time, we’ll be doing soil tests, perk tests, and a phase one environmental test. We’ll gather all the info on the water situation, and most importantly, we need to be praying every day for wisdom and for God’s will to be done.
